Cristo Blanco & Sacsayhuaman views offer incredible, breathtaking overlook views of the city of Cusco. The best part is you can walk to these ruins from the historic center, no taxi needed! Enjoy the walk and the many views on the way to the top. Both of these landmarks are right next to each other, so the walk is really worth it.
Avenida del Sol is filled with many places to visit. One of my favorites was the market near the train station. It is indoor and houses so many vendors; don’t forget to bargain! On your walk down to this market you will find a few more mini markets as well. Be sure to keep your eye out for Mural Cuzco, you shouldn’t miss it! There is also the Center for Traditional Textiles, and if you’re lucky you will see the weaving process live in action! Finally, there are Incan ruins right on this street – Qorikancha is an Incan temple. In terms of practicality, you will also find all the banks for your currency exchange needs
Choco Museo Class – Bar to Bean was such a fun experience. You participate in the chocolate making experience from the very beginning of grinding the beans to decorating your very own tray of goodies to take home. The course instructor involves every person in the class, makes sure you get great pictures, and provides non-stop laughs!
Plazas – Of course La Plaza de Armas is exquisite and there is nothing quite like it, but there are a few other smaller plazas in the same vicinity that are worth checking out. Plaza San Blas has a cute restaurant that I recommend called Pachapapa. Plaza El Regocijo is home to some sweet cafes and of course the Chocolate Museum!
San Pedro Market – This is one for the eyes and the nose! Be sure to pass through this traditional market that sells meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, grains, and so much more.
Soak in the beauty of this ancient city and all of its wonders. Each street is unique and has its own charm. Explore, get lost, and marvel in all Cusco has to offer.
