Having an organized classroom is a must. You will save time, your students will follow routines, and you will keep your sanity! I made some purchases on Amazon (thank you two day shipping!) that are life savers. The best part – all 3 of these items can be used year after year.
Keep organized with this wall calendar. My school has alternating A/B days, so I use the calendar as a large visual for keeping track of which day it is. In addition, students can see when there are upcoming exams or even days off of school! (I know the days are in English, but you can print out text in Spanish and tape over it.) This may look like a regular old calculator pouch to you, but to me it is Cell Phone Jail. No matter how many times I say no phones allowed, students are still sneaking in text messages or Google Translate. My solution: Cell Phone Jail. It may sound harsh, but students must put their phones in ‘la carcel’ if it is a problem in that specific class, and especially during tests. Put a numbered roster list next to the jail and students will know which space is theirs. See below for a link to purchase.
With this organizer, I am able to have a corner of the room for student supplies: scissors, glue, markers, crayons, stapler, etc. that is just for my students. When they need something, they know where to go because each cube is labeled with a basket. I purchased baskets similar to these, which fit well in the cubes. See below for a link to purchase.
